Pop-up portrait Preparation

Pop-up portraits were created to focus on the things that make people and relationships unique.

Before

  • I intentionally choose our location to have a minimal background. If we are in a studio, I will have black or white background options. If we are on location, it will be a simple green space.

  • For kiddos, I recommend each one pick out a small toy or book to bring with them on picture day. As the parent you should know that this item will likely appear in a few of the images but it is my goal to use it as a conversation tool and item of comfort rather than a prop.

During our session

  • I will likely never say, “say cheese!” as I’ve found it rarely brings out an authentic smile.

  • I will make small talk, tell corny jokes, and do lots of silly things to engage whoever I’m photographing.

  • It’s the in-between moments that hold the expressions you see everyday on the faces of the people you love.

After

  • GET EXCITED!!!

  • Two weeks after our session I will send you an email with online gallery access and download instructions.

  • Professional printed goods will be available a la carte through the gallery.
