family lifestyle | blackberry picking | Lancaster SC

After we cancelled for rain once and then again due to the pandemic’s stay-at-home order, this sweet family invited me to go explore The Ivy Place with them. They admired wildflowers, picked blackberries to take home, and walked through a beautiful garden - the whole time enjoying togetherness as a family and the farm’s sense of peace and wide open space. As their daughter grows I hope her parents remember how she gently passed her hand over the wildflowers as she chose her favorites and how she led her dad through sunflowers holding his hand. I hope her mom remembers the feeling of snuggling her four year old cheeks and hair. And I hope when their daughter is an adult she can look at these pictures and feel the tranquility of that day and the love she experienced in her childhood.

winter newborn lifestyle session at home

This was my last indoor session before the pandemic and lockdown hit. It was a “newborn” session, but it was so much more... it was life. Toddler snacks, baby yawns and feedings, dog hanging with us the whole time, a mother in town to help with a newborn... I love getting to document all these things. I am still not booking indoor sessions, but until I am again I’ll be dreaming of experiences just like this one.
